I came out from the dark
and rediscovered
my capacity to feel.
And I became whole,
found new meaning again
and lived each day
soaring to new heights
because of your touch.
But with us apart
I lost ground
I fell into shreds
of worthlessness,
and began to ask
if I was still alive.
And I retreat
into my abyss again
until someone else
may teach me once more
that pain
is a mere
interference.
