ATTENTION: MOTORCYCLE RIDERS

Attention: MOTORCYCLE riders who drive without protective head gear.

Land Transportation Office has raised the penalty from P150 to P1000 for those who will be caught not wearing protective head gear.

According to Alberto Suansing, LTO chief, motorcycle riders who used to ignore the law will now be forced to wear helmets to avoid being fined.

A number of deaths in motorcycle accidents were caused by head injuries.

Suansing also reminded motorcycle drivers that having 2 or more back rides is also considered as violation. A back ride without a helmet is also subject to penalty.
