Ahmedabad blasts cost terrorists Rs 75,000 only



Just 75,000 rupees is what it took to carry out the serial blasts in Ahmedabad which killed 57 people and injured many more. That's what the police claim the alleged mastermind Abu Bashar has revealed during his interrogation. Sources say Bashar told the investigators that the group that carried out the blasts relied on stolen bicycles, cars and ammonium nitrate or urea dipped in petrol. Traditional methods to cause maximum damage at minimum cost. Bashar has also revealed that a SIMI activist sold his house in Kutch some months ago to arrange the money. The crime branch says it has the documents to back its claims. Sources say: The sale deed of the Kutch house has been seized Crime branch officials have questioned the new owner of the house Officials are now trying to trace the SIMI activisit who sold the house Other details that have emerged from the interrogation of Bashir reveal that he attended the terror training programme in Kerala but failed the fitness test. But given his oratorial skills, he was used to motivate young people both at the camps in Kerala or Halol in Gujarat. Sources say that Bashr hardly showed any remorse or ignorance during the questioning. Infact, he has confessed to have been actively involved in executing the plan of multiple blasts in the city. With investigations on, crime branch officials hope to gather more details.
