Brisk Preparations to Celebrate The World Space Week-2008
Celebration of World Space Week is a program of the United Nations aiming at creating Space awareness among the school students which is coordinated by World Space Week Association based in Huston, USA.
World Space Week is being celebrated in every year on 4-10 October around the world. Bangladesh has been regularly celebrating World Space Week since 2003 and the Main event of this Celebration is held at Enayetpur, Sirajganj. Due to the Eid-ul Fitre and Puja vacations, the Main Celebration of WSW-2008 will be held on Monday, 13 October, 2008, from 8.30am to 1.00pm at ‘Balur Math’, Enayetpur. It is expected that students from about 40 schools will participate in this Celebration. Some new contests will be added to celebrate the WSW-2008 at Enayetpur such as, Water Rocket, Air Rocket, Balloon Rocket Launches, Space Art, Space Models, Space Quiz, Space Debate etc. and attractive Prizes to be awarded to the Winners. The Program will be conducted under the supervision of Mr. F. R. Sarker, the Director of World Space Week Association, General Secretary of Bangladesh Astronomical Society and the First Zero Gravity Flyer in Bangladesh. Any School can participate in the Celebration of World Space Week-2008 and its details of Program along with the photographs will be published in the Annual Report of the United Nations.
