Consultations with Donor Agencies Begin in Kathmandu

A day after Finance Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai pledged to implement the budget commitments with the help of international grants and internal revenue management, the ministry is having consultations with donor agencies on Monday.

Sources affiliated to the ministry said that the meeting has a target of attracting foreign aid in connection with the budget commitments. The purpose of the consultation is said to be to interpret to donors the inclusions in the budget.

The sources also informed media that the finance ministry has invited most of the Kathmandu-based donor agencies.

Opposition parties, especially the Nepali Congress, the principal Opposition, has derided at the budgetary allocations and commitments of the current Maoist-led coalition government.
