Dominic Robinson Trial Begins Today for Samantha Jaume Murder

Over 500 potential jurors were screened today as Dominic Robinson goes on trial for the 2001 murder of Samantha Jaume.

Samantha Jaume was shot to death in her North Shore New Orleans home while unloading groceries and her four children from her car. Dominic Robinson was charged with the murder in 2003 while he was already serving a life sentence in prison for another attempted murder.

Prosecutors believe that Dominic Robinson killed Samantha Jaume in order to steal her car to sell for drug money. Three other people have been arrested in the case but Robinson is the first to go on trial. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
