Brig. Gen. Tom Tinsley was our base/3rd wing commander here at Elmendorf AFB, AK. He was someone who we all looked up to and held in high regard not only as our commander but as a person. Today is indeed a day of mourning for us all. The reasons for his death have not been fully released as of yet, but the statement has been made that there was no foul play involved. We ask you to keep the Tinsley family, immediate, and extended (including all of us who have had the pleasure to serve under his command) in your prayers.
