High School Students Gathers in Alehouse and Billiard Hall during Class Hours

Baguio City – A billiard hall and alehouse located near a school campus is frequented by high school students from the University of Baguio. The students, both girls and boys congregate at the Mabini Market building where a billiard hall, alehouse and computer shop were located.

The students with complete uniform worked their way out of school campus during class or recess to meet in their favorite hangouts. Once inside the establishment, the students all minors smoke cigarettes in full view of people passing around them. After chitchatting, the minors soon enter the alehouse, billiard hall and computer shop until their allowance run dry.  

Despite of city ordinance preventing minors from entering alehouses and other entertainment establishments, the students were allowed to drink ales, play billiard or spend every penny of their allowance in computer shop even if they have classes to attend. This particular situation is repeated all year round because apparently, the local authorities and school officials are sleeping in their job.

The photograph of minors who are standing and smoking at the lobby of alehouse, billiard hall and computer shop is a common situation seen by many including authorities unmindful of the minors playing billiards, gulping alcoholic drinks and blasting away their money in computer games.
