I never said Ponting is Selfish - Allan Border

Allan Border said that he never called Ponting as a selfish person during the Nagpur test where he had a chance to put pressure back on India but failed to use his Quickies since he was afraid that the slew over rate may cause him a match ban.

But the former Captain jelled to his earlier statement saying “Ponting erred in not pressing into action his regular bowlers at a crucial juncture on the penultimate day of the Nagpur Test.”

"I don't know where he (Ponting) is getting his information from," quoted Border.

"We never really talked about it being a personal decision, we were just in commentary and we disagreed with the tactics that were being employed. It was as plain and simple as that.”

"There was never any inference about Ricky Ponting making those decisions on a personal level. Certainly there was talk about that, from different journalists or from Indian papers."
