SRINAGAR -- The chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir liberation front, Mohammad Yasin Malik, has said that New Delhi has lost the battle in Kashmir. The participation of millions of Kashmiris in the recent peaceful demonstrations again New Delhi were a referendum against the illegal occupation of Kashmir.
Despite the Indian atrocities, Kashmiris have not resorted to any violence and their peaceful movement is the proof that they want freedom.
He also added that the government of India should restrain its forces from spraying bullets over peaceful protestors and listen to the grievances of the people of Kashmir.

I respect your sentiments. I have given you 5-star. But I beg to differ. The anti-India hype in Valley is product of persistent campaign by terrorists who has made the Hindus to flee. Now for the sake of debate if I say that India makes the majority to flee valley, what would be the sentiment left there or say if Hindus are forcibly settled there changing demography what sentiment will prevail. However nothing like that would happen. This is India and not China who have outscored Tibetans by settling Han chinese in Tibet to change the demography there. We respect each and every community. I do support plebisite but with a rider. Pakistan sponsored terrorism has changed the Kashmir sentiments after 1980s. A plebisite in my opinion can be held only afterValley Kashmiris are allowed to live freely without any interfarance from Pakistan for a considerable period say 100 years. Then a part by part regionwise plebisite may be conducted. But one question, why Pakistan failed to keep Bengali Muslims in their fold? For last 37 years Bangladeshis are living freely without interfarance from India. Can Pakistan persuade them to join the parent country? I think the bigger question at the moment is terrorism in both India and Pakistan which need to be addressed first. Kashmir can be tackled thereafter by our next generations for a peaceful solution. Meanwhile I always feel Pakistanis as our own blood brothers and I always love them in my heart not withstanding governmental disputes. After all we have almost the same Muslim population in our countries. Please note that I was born in Pakistan and to that extent Pakistan is my motherland too. I do have a great respect for Islam and Muslims at large. In my child hood I had a lot of Muslim friends in my school. I find Islam very soothing as a religion. Let us look forward to bright futures.
