Intel to Promote Computer Literacy in Uttar Pradesh
The chip manufacturing company Intel is to help India's IT department make technology more accessible to school teachers throughout India.Uttar Pradesh has teamed up with Intel, for spreading computer literacy in the country's most populous state.
According to the principal secretary of secondary education A.K.Mirsha says "By cillaborating with Intel,we would set up computer labs in nearly 5,000 schools across the state".
He said computer labs would be initially set up in various schools of Lucknow and Allahabad district and later to other district.The move will immensely benefit students and teachers of rural and far-flung areas not enrolled in computer training programmes.One of the official says that Unlike ICSE and CBSE ,computer science is not compulsory subject in the Uttar Pradesh board.The government's pact with Intel would be the first step to make computer science a compulsory subject in the Uttar Pradesh.
And Intel also looking for villagers as a part of their ongoing programme Intel wired up 650 cyber cafes in rural Malapuram to make arrangement for net banking.through this they hopes that villagers can even settle their electricity bill by using internet.
