International folk music festival in Nepal

Marking the 100 golden years of music recording and 25 years of commercialization of Nepali music, the Music Nepal, a pioneering Musical Company in Nepal is hosting "The International Folk Music Festival 2008" in the capital from November 5, 2008. According to the Organizers, “The International Folk Music Festival 2008 is a musical celebration which aims at serve as a melting point for both the national and international artistes to promote folk music and instruments that reflect the rich and vibrant cultural traits of their countries. Moreover, five different countries are participating at the programme including Norway, India, Malawi, Palestine and South Africa who will star alongside Nepali artistes representing five development regions of the country.” The selected groups from the five different region of Nepal are Sakhia-Paiya of the Tharus of Dang, Hudkeli Panche Baaja, a dance performed by the inhabitants of Dhangadi and Kailali and Kanchanpur Group of Rana Tharu of Kanchanpur, Kaura Naach of Gurung and Magar community of Gorkha, Satar Group of Satar people living in Jhapa and Dhime Group from central region.

Hello Shreedeep Rayamajhi, Its a great news as u mentioned but why not Bangladeshi Folk song is here? You know Bangladeshi Folk song is great and rich? We have a greatest philosophical Baul named Lalon and his song very popular. We have also another folk singers and musician so why Bangladesh was abscence here?
