Is there mail on Columbus Day? No.  Columbus Day is a federal holiday, so the USPS (United States Postal Service) gets a break-- and you get no mail.

Are banks closed on Columbus Day?  They sure are-- along with government agencies and offices. 

Unfortunately for you, most employers do not give the day off, and most schools are still in session.
