Janeesa Lewis, Missing Fort Bliss Soldier, Found Alive

Janeesa Lewis, 29, a soldier at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas who had been missing since Friday July 18 resurfaced alive but injured. Lewis said her husband, Clinton Lewis, with whom Janeesa recently split, kidnapped her and drove with her to Nevada before turning himself in to authorities back in El Paso.

When police arrived at Janeesa Lewis' apartment on Friday to investigate her disappearance, they found it trashed and with traces of blood. Lewis had recently attempted to split up with her husband of two years but on Friday, he came to her apartment and allegedly abducted her and stabbed her twice.

Clinton Lewis has a long criminal record and relatives say he was abusive to Janeesa Lewis in the past. He threatened to kill her if she ever left him saying that if he couldn't have her, nobody could. He is currently being held on $75,000 bail for charges of aggravated kidnapping.

Janeesa Lewis has three children Clinton Jr., 4, Gabrielle Buttry, 7, Toni Marie Buttry, 9. She is safe and currently recovering from her wounds and traumatic experience.
