Janette Daquigan, 12, Beheaded by Father

When Filipino responded to emergency calls that a neighbor had turned violent, they had no idea what kind of shock they would be in for.

When they arrived at the house of Remigio Daquigan in Pamplona, Cagayan, the found his 12-year-old daughter, Janette Daquigan, beheaded. Remigio Daquigan was holding a knife and standing over his daughter's body.

Police tried to negotiate with Remigio Daquigan so that he would come out and drop his weapon although it was too late for Janette. When Remigio would not drop his weapon and attempted to attack police, they shot him dead. Police do not know why Daquigan killed his daughter and perhaps they never will.

Janette Daquigan's father had mental problems, police report. Unfortunately, he was able to perpetrate one of the more heinous crimes you will ever see before he could be treated or stopped.
