Today June 6, 2008, in honor of National Donut Day, pastry chain Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts to customers.
National Donut Day, also known as National Doughnut Day, began in 1917 to honor women who served in World War I. National Donut Day always takes place on the first Friday of the month.
