Kristen Hall, Sugarland Founder, Sues Band for $1.5 Million

Kristen Hall, the founder and former member of the hit country band Sugarland, is suing her old band for $1.5 million in royalties and related fees.

Kristen Hall found Sugarland with Kristian Bush in Atlanta, Georgia in 2002. She was the main songwriter for the band which has had million-selling albums and is currently at the top of the Billboard charts with their new album Love on the Inside.

When Kristen Hall left the group in 2005 to pursue a solo career, the band agreed that they would continue to share profits and losses. Hall's lawsuit claims that she did not receive her due share of the band's profits.

The lawsuit claims that Kristen Hall "contributed significant time, effort, energy and passion toward the creative and commercial success of Sugarland."
