Kristin Scott Thomas: I've Loved You So Long

Do not hesitate a moment to rent or buy the DVD of I've Loved You So Long, the French movie starring Kristin Scott Thomas as a doctor released from prison after 15 years sentence for an unspeakable crime.   Joining her younger sister, played by Elsa Zylberstein, in southern France, she arrives drab and quiet. 

Registering with her equivalent of a US parole officer, she finds him an engaging character.

Gradually, she comes out of her shell revealed as the beautiful 50-plus woman Thomas really is.  Ultimately, the nature of her crime is revealed.  

This film was nominated for Best Foreign Picture.  It should have been nominated for Best Picture, period.

When Hollywood remakes it, Kristin Scott Thomas, a Briton who lives in France, should reprise her role.   Do not miss this.  -30-
