Austrian Monster Dad May Have Murdered Girl 22 Years Ago

Josef Fritzl, the 73-year-old man who admitted to fathering seven children by his daughter over 24 years, may have more skeletons in his closet. 

The Austrian "monster dad" imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth Fitzl as a teenager after drugging and handcuffing her.  Mr. Fritzl built an elaborate underground dungeon where he raped Elisabeth and forced her to raise three children without any contact with sunlight or the outside world.

Now the Independent reports that Austrian officials are considering him in a murder case from 22 years ago.  Apparently 17-year-old Martina Posch went missing and was found dead 10 days later close to Fritzl's property. There was evidence Martina had been raped.  Until now, the case has remained unsolved. Officials are reopening the investigation to consider Fritzl.

Fritzl already faces up to 15 years for rape charges and a potential "murder by failure to act" for incinerating the body of an infant who dies in childbirth.  SInce his initial confession, Fritzl has refused to speak.
