Mumbai attack claimed Singapore life
Headlines on almost every news and media are covering the news of Mumbai attack. A series of ten well coordinated attacks in Mumbai, the largest city and also the financial capital of India. The ten series of attack is across Mumbai including two five stars hotel, Oberoi Trident and Taj Mahal Palace & Tower near to the Gateway of India.
The total death tolls according to news sources for the ten sites are 160 and 11 militants killed. Deccan Majahideen, the unknown Islamic Militant had claimed to be responsible for the attacks via email to news agencies.
Among the 24 hostages who were found dead in the Oberoi Trident Hotel at Nariman Point is a Singaporean. Ms Lo Hwei Yen, a lawyer. It was indeed a very sad thing to have happened to Singapore citizen as this is probably the first person who became the victim of terrorism.
The attack lasted from 26 September 2008 till 29 September 2008 when Indian security forces finally took control of all the attacked sites.
