Philippines' Most Treasured Comedian, Dolphy, In Critical Condition
Dolphy Quizon (Rodolfo Vera Quizon), or better known as The King of Comedy of the Philippines, was reported to be in a critical condition after his hemoglobin dramatically dropped. According to his celebrity son, Eric Quizon, who is also the chosen spokesperson of the family, Dolphy's kidneys are malfunctioning and that the toxins can no longer be filtered and thus cannot be removed from his body.
His son also mentions that Dolphy's lungs are very weak. Dolphy has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a lung disease which either involves long term cough with mucus or the slow deterioration of the lungs over time.
The 83-year-old comedian was recently placed on the 'Do Not Resuscitate', as requested by his family. Dolphy's wife, Zsa Zsa Padilla along with other family members requested the hospital not to attempt to revive Dolphy should he register a flat line in the heart monitor.
Family members are asking for the prayers of everyone for Dolphy's speedy recovery.
