Sethu Samudram or Shri Ram Setu?

The beneficial fallout of the Sethu Samudram project is not questioned. NASA evidence suggests that Ram Sethu could be the remains of a man-made bridge. If the project can be modified to save the bridge, why the government hesitates in doing so?
