Silence Bar
A hall where you can’t even see your own fingers, a tiny laser torch light flashes the moment you enter. There will be giggling of women sitting in corners of this hall. Some would be occupied with there Boy friends and some sitting idle might look at you as they knew you since ages. “Yes you are in Mumbai in a Silence Bar”.
Silence Bar means there will be pin drop silence and it will be dark like a blind well, girls with changed names and religions would be entertaining you as your drinking partner. A colleague of mine went inside one these Bars in Malad (W), Mumbai with a friend of his. They never visited a place like it before and had no clue at all what does gonna happen. A waiter came very politely asked for the wine and food to be ordered. After he took the order a girl came and sat with my friend Shawn she was extra friendly and requested for a glass of Whiskey with soda. Shawn’s told the waiter to get whiskey and a plate of tandoori chicken.
Behind Shawn’s table his friend Adam was caught by another women, who said she is from Bengal and doesn’t like’s drinking but just to elevate the bills of customers and there Boss make good money she and her friend drink and work in these conditions. She said she makes a little money just to feed herself.
Here comes the climax, after another round of drinks “Bill comes Rs. 2100, Adam was about faint after seeing the bill as he knew even adding both of there cash and plastic, they would hardly be carrying 600. They tried to make the waiter understand that it was not them who drank but these females. Waiter starts abusing and harassing them and takes them to the owner, Who hit them with a wine glass, abuses and throws them after taking there cash, cards, mobile and watches.
These 2 come out of the Silence Bar and decide that they won’t even drink at a place which has even a single bulb or silence written outside.
