Tamil New Year's day

Tamilians world over will be celebrating their New year on April 13th . According to the Panchangam the auspicious day falls on this day. Panchangam is the Hindu almanac (calendar) and the Hindus celebrate all their functions whether religious or social  with the help of this calendar.

They also undertake to do important jobs or business according to this calendar. There are also some superstitious  people who even run even their routine with the help of this calendar.

on this day we prepare some delicacies and offer it to the gods. One special preparation I have to mention is the Mango pachadi. It is a concoction of mangoes, gur, (Brown sugar) and neem flowers There is a connection  with this item and our lives . Mangoes refer to the sour part of life, the gur the sweet part and the neem the bitter part of life . By preparing it we are preparing ourselves to all phases of life.

I am also pretty sure kollywood (Tamil Film Industry ) will also have some releases on that day .
