Users of Smart phones may please be aware of the security risks that you would be exposed to due to the inherent weaknesses of these internet-enabled phones. With a little bit of knowledge of code coupled with cunningness, a hacker can cause havoc to the users of these phones, whether it is blackberry or iPhone or Windows Mobile.
The hackers do not stop with just with data theft or unleashing viruses into your system. They can steal bank information, make you poorer by stealing money from your account, modify your messages to cause damage to your official or personal life, meddle with everything you do and all or any of them without your knowledge.
HOW THEY DO IT: With each advancement of technology, the hackers have been becoming smarter and smarter day by day. Earlier, they were doing it with security cards and it was restricted only to GSM enabled phones only. Now it has been replaced through spy wares or snoop wares which are installed in your your system through SMS'es/MMS'es or emails. The minute one clicks, they get activated and starts working without the knowledge of the user. It can carryout multifarious malfunctions as modifying the messages, interpret calls, upload data, delete or copy the address book.
HOW DO YOU PREVENT THEM; It is compared to as bad as having an unprotected sex. Prevention through protection is the only answer. A multi pronged security systems with firewalls, anti-SMS-Spams need to be installed. All the more important they have to be updated constantly and above all, stop clicking BLINDLY.
