Time management
To beat the traffic at peak hours, I’ve got my work timing changed, leaving home early at 7 a.m instead of 8.30 like I used to. The change has made a difference to almost every aspect of my every day life.
To start with, I find that by avoiding the traffic, there is so much less tension while driving.
I reach office in half the time and arrive in a much fresher frame of mind.
This allows me to concentrate better and has improved my productivity. My boss is happy and my colleagues have noticed the difference. I have extra time after finishing my allotted work and am able to be involved with other cultural activities at the office.
I leave the office early and again beat the traffic and reach home in half the time. The total time saved in travel is 1 hour every day, 5 hours a week and 22 hours a month! Now I spend more quality time with my kids and wife, instead of coming home tired and wallowing in self-pity about leading a dog’s life.
My lethargy seems to be a thing of the past and I’m sure that this year, time won’t flash by as fast as last year seemed to, leaving me complaining that there wasn’t time to do anything that needed to be done.
Now why didn’t I think of this years back?
