US Judge Orders Release of 17 Chinese Muslims from Gitmo

Washington: US justice department spokesperson Brain Roehrkasse criticized the orders of a US federal judge to release the 17 Chinese Muslims from the US naval facility in Cuba.

A US federal Judge orders to release the 17 Chinese Muslim detainees at Guantanmo Bay into the United States, a dramatic ruling that could set the course for releasing dozens of other prisoners from the US naval facility at Cuba.

The Bush administration criticized the decision as a threat to the national security and quickly moved to the block the decision in the federal appeals court.

The members of the group are from the ethnic group knows as Uighurs and they have been in the custody for the last 7 years.
