March 31, 2008 River Plate continue their impressive run of form after beating Progreso 3-0. Juan Ramón Carrasco´s men struggled to score at first, but were comfortable after scoring early on courtesy of a penalty kick given and cashed in by Henry Giménez making it nine so far this season for the poacher. Their other guns, Jonathan Urretaviscaya and Jorge Zambrana came to help their cause to put the game out of reach for the home side. Nacional are clipping at their heels after a gritty yet non-convincing win against Central Español at home. Peñarol and Defensor Sporting complete the top four as they kept pace with wins of their own.
