Reflections on WWE Vengeance 2007: The Night of Champions
Following this past June's Pay-Per-View, WWE Vengeance 2007, The night of champions wasn't all that great. You would think that a major championship would have changed hands. The only one that did was the Woman's championship. Which I didn't mind because Candice Michelle deserves it.
One of the matches that should have had a better ending was the match between Edge and Batista. A loss by count out? If I'm not correct, aren't they saying Edge is the greatest World Heavyweight Champion ever? Shouldn't they have Edge win by pinfall? It doesn't make any sense to me.
Another dissapointment to me was the match between Santino Marilla and Umaga. This guy is new and no one seems to be able to take the title from him. My thought was that they would crown a new champion now. I guess I was wrong. One match I liked was the one with Chavo Guerrero and Wang Yang. It was a pretty entertaining match. My pick was Chavo Guerrero, at least I got one right. The match with Duece n Dominoe was a complete waste of time. No disrespect to Slaughter and Snuka, but they seem too old to be competing in the match. My guess is that they felt sorry for the two.
Next stop is the ECW World title match between Chris Benoit and CM Punk. Due to a family emergency Johnny Nitro was chosen to take Benoit's place. In the end, Nitro only in ECW for a week became the new ECW champion. It was a pretty good match. LIke I said before, I think CM Punk should be on raw or Smackdown! This kid has a great future in WWE.
The overall rating was, I think was not worth the 40 bucks. No major championships changed hands and legends reunion made it overrated. One Night Stand and Judgment Day were better.
