DARJEELING: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha celebrated her first foundation day with festivities organised all over the Hills including branches in Dooars Terai, State capitals and the New Delhi. Speaking to the multitude of hill population gathered at Chowrasta, Darjeeling, Bimal Gurung offered gratitude to the people for support and participation in the different agitational programmes launched by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha. While the majority of populace chose to obey Gorkha Janmukti Morcha's verdict on Cultural dresses and wore Daura Suruwal and Choubandi Cholo, those who abstained from wearing the same were dubbed anti-Gorkhaland.
Intimating the gathered populous about the impending hardships, Bimal Gurung, President, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha said, "We will not initiate bigger and more agressive agitational programmes. I request every one to be remain conscious and prepare themselves for some hardships in the future. Some agitational programmes will be prepared especially for women and I request women to be prepared. Even the West Bengal Government is scared of Nari Morcha. These very women must now take care of the people who do not wear daura suruwal and choubandi cholo and the owners of the vehicle which do not sport the GL plates. And thats not it now the same women must act against the people within the party who are either working against the party or conspiring against it."
Praising members of Nari Morcha, Bimal Gurung said, "If you want any one to be taken care of, send me a letter and it will be done. This tricolor was not brought at the vote bazaar. Gorkha Janmukti Morcha was started to unite all Gorkhas under one flag and achieve Gorkhaland. From 17th of October onwards all State Government offices will now have to change Government of West Bengal to Government of Gorkhaland. This is compulsory. This is part of our Non-cooperation movement and all must participate. Since we have nothing that matches with West Bengal we have initiated one month cultural movement where everyone will have to wear Daura Suruwal and Choubandi Cholo. But this not a verdict but a request. If anyone is found not obliging with our request they will be declared as anti-people and anti-Gorkhaland."
Bimal Gurung offered his wishes for the Durga Puja and Tihar festivals. Thanking people for helping Gorkha Janmukti Morcha reach the zenith, requested them to make the one month cultural movement. People who do not love their mothers will not wear the ethnic dresses. The demand for Gorkhaland is the last demand. Even Mahakal Baba must understand this fact. People have nothing to lose in the movement. As for me, I can even lose my life. And that is exactly why if the people re to leave Gorkha Janmukti Morcha due to someone's else false promises then I will have to take become someone else. But I will not allow anyone to destroy me. I request all those who oppose me and those who are jealous of me, do not work towards you own end. The West Bengal Government has knelt down before Gorkha Janmukti Morcha. If any of the members of the Central Committee are to conspire and cheat, they will die coughing blood. I know that some people within Gorkha Janmukti Morcha are have dual allegiances and being here and there betraying the party... if you know about more of such indiviudals, you can write to me and I know what to do about them."
Targeting other prominent parties in the Hills Bimal Gurung said, "Parties like CPRM and Gorkha League are shouting Gorkhaland before the press for votes. We are fighting for our political and cultural identity. Have I done anything wrong? Gorkha Janmukti Morcha will exist for 55 years. Gorkhaland will be achieved within March 2010. People must only talk about Gorkhaland. Do not believe newspapers. Don't listen to people who says Amar Lama is Madan Tamang's brother. Today the people are right and hence the leaders are working accordingly. We must exist unitedly. But those who have joined GJM or are with the party since its inception let us not discuss about issues. I had personally given the order that leaders from 1986 be not given membership to the party. Politics must be played in New Delhi not here. If these leaders respect Madan Tamang then let me clear this thing, I respect Madan Tamang and address him as elder brother but the elder brother must stay at his own place and the younger brother at his. Let Madan Tamang call for an all party meeting. If people likes him then he can hold public meetings at any place he likes. This is people's movement. Why is he trying to obstruct GJM's peaceful democratic movement? If Subash Ghisingh was the mastermind behind the mrtyrdom of more than 1200 people, the communist leaders of the said period were also as much guilty. Leaders who were against Gorkhaland, why are they now crying out in favour of Gorkhaland today? It does not behove these leaders to demand for Gorkhaland. When time comes I will let the people know about these leaders. I have freed people from the 21 years of GNLF misrule. But the people now think that they are completely free and can do anything. This is not true."
Gurung insisted that people pay electricity and telecom from October to December only and those found paying bills earlier to that will be reprimanded. "This decision has been taken on the request of the Chief Minister. Now the State Government has capitulated and surrendered before us. If they blackout Darjeeling Hills we know how to blackout the plains. Electricity is being supplied to the plains from our hills. They better think out twice before doing any thing. People must remain convinced that GJM will never betray public trust. We do not want violence. People are going through a lot of trouble in the plains and Dooars Terai. Whenever we are going to Dooars we use GL numbers but we ask them to change into Bengal plates which venturing into plains so that they do not have any problems. Some people think wrong of it. I know there are some State and Central government agents in the Hills. In order to spread the awareness about Gorkhaland in the nation, I will be sending members of Nari Morcha all over the nation. For this, names of five women must be sent from all units. We will also be taking stern action against drug abusers and alcoholics. Gorkhaland personnel will take care of these things. I will also warn those who try to disturb the tourist not to do so since this is the tourist season."
A group of rafters who had gone to Bihar to help in the evacuation of stranded people along with other students and party cadres were felicitated on the occasion of the first Foundation Day of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha.

No body buys argument of GJM. Politicians in their quest for supreme powers mislead people. This was done by Subas Gheising and is being done by Bimal now. We know the game very well. Subas has already been discarded by history and so will be Bimal in due course. Gorkhaland is a wishful thinking. However I support joining of Darjeeling with Sikkim.
