$100 Million of Heroin Seized in Eastern Myanmar

An illegal shipment of drugs worth about $100 million was seized July 14 on the Mai Sat-TaChi Leik highway near Ta Chi Leik, a beautiful town that is the capital of East Shan State and Golden Triangle.  Myanmar police forces discovered 2,700 packages of herion and 340,000 tablets of amphetamine.

Some suggested they were brought from Thailand to Laos, then from Laos to the European market.

Then again, on the truck-car of these materials, there has been Myanmar Kyat 376 millions( Thai baht 13 millions) seized at the same time, said Illegal Drug Eradication Board of Chai Rai, Thailand,ONCB.

The truck driver and six Myanmar citizens were detained by Myanmar Police.

Pornthep Aiemprrpai, authorized officer of ONCB congratulated the Myanmar Police for controlling narcotic drugs.
