Ancient Roman Shipwrecks Discovered in Mediterranean

Archeologists in Rome discovered five well-preserved ancient Roman shipwrecks submerged about 150 meters of Ventone, a small Mediterranean island between Rome and Naples.
The shipwrecks dating back from between the 1st century B.C. and the 4th century includes a cargo-full of important finds such as vases, pots, relics, kitchen tools, glass objects, moratoria, large bowls and amphorae -- which serves to hold wine and oil.

According to the officials of Italy's Culture Ministry, the finds were authentic, hence they plan to scan deeper levels of the sea to unearth more museum-worthy treasures.

Researchers used sonar technology and remotely operated vehicles to discover the submerged shipwrecks.
