Another Big Step Towards Space

The US  space shuttle Discovery was successfully fired towards the international space station with seven crew on board. One among the crew is a japanease resident. It is a 13 days mission. The shuttle was lifted off without any trouble in a clear weather morning at Cape Canaveral. The crew will be engaged in adding solar array wings  to the Space Station which will be required to supply electricity for future scientific experiments. There will be three space walks to complete the task.

Most interesting is that the flight will replace a machinary which covert urine to potable water. All possible precautionary measures were taken for the pick up.Shortly before launch, Commander Lee Archambault thanked the teams that helped make the launch possible. "It's truly an honour to be part of this team representing NASA, the nation and the international partners," Archambault said  .http://in.news.yahoo.com/20/20090316/1424/twl-us-shuttle-lifts-off-on-mission-to-i.html
