Britain in IT should rise
More than stepping-up developed products and services, Britain should consciously and aggressively take on pioneering projects in Information Technology.
Britain, a developed economy leads the world on certain grounds and also advance solutions for a better world. Britain has many first in Science and Technology which lead to further development.
These days and times, one of the ‘science’ many see and experience is Tech, different kinds of technologies, predominantly Information Technology. Good as IT appear at present, there are many parts that require modification. Some of these do not appear as defects but as features that will be better when available differently.
Almost every website requires registration for membership including today’s internet midpoint, social networks. Some of these registrations are snappy but involve email verification. Should this remain? It will be nice to be a member of any website you visit by entering any username and password to admit you.
The process that follow after first login will ensure that no two user conflict in usernames or certain identification. If such websites fly from Britain, it will become the new standard and of British growth and glory.
To seek information on the internet, search engines are often used, these services need improvement. If I do a search on ‘science research’, I should also have a separate search of keywords like places, people, dates, awards, duration, name of a Month, or anything I think I want.
This will broaden desired search results and avoid use of sentence to accommodate all keywords. If a search engine provides a feature where items often searched by a user do not appear conventional, it displays differently so long his browser history is not deleted.
A search engine of British origin with these and more appealing features will rise fast in utilization around the world and jointly improve access to information for consumers worldwide.
Cloud computing is getting more attention for its solutions and prospects. Infrastructure can be provided as a service, Platform can be provided as a service and Software can be provided as a service using cloud computing. Further development of these services is originating and spreading from Britain to the rest of the world.
While works are in for this, Britain can continuously explore new grounds in cloud computing service. For example, using a specially programmed supercomputer, some of its memory can be shared with personal computers connected over the internet to it.
A quick effect of this is that if you run an application on your computer, the application does not run on the Random Access Memory of your computer, it does on the one provided by the supercomputer. This service will advance cloud computing; it with Britain to lead.
In proving how developed their Nation is becoming, some Guys used some of Uncle Sam’s technology to have the fastest supercomputer on earth to-date, though transient, is a feat that can prod them to future achievement.
Stories of the Industrial Age can’t be told without Britain, the Information Age saw unmatched contributions from Britain, but more than ever, more than ‘essential relationship’, more than deficit reduction, Britain should chief in IT innovation globally. Some of the examples presented here and many more should be the focus of Britain to continue her giant lead on the planet.
