Engagement of teachers in backward areas on ReT pattern: Peerzada
PULWAMA/Srinagar, October 30 (Scoop News) - Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed on Sunday said that teacher posts having fallen vacant in educationally backward areas since 2010 will be filled up on Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) pattern. In this pursuit, he asked the Chief Education Officers (CEO’s) and Zonal Education Officers (ZEO’s) to process such cases on priority basis so that students in these areas are timely benefited.
He said this while addressing an Education Conference held at Town Hall, Pulwama.
Peerzada impressed upon the CEOs to speed up ReTs engagement process calling for framing panel within 45 days after advertising such posts adequately. He directed them to make these selections in a transparent manner.
Responding to the demands put forth by the teaching community, Peerzada said that the government is seized of the issues and efforts are afoot to redress their genuine grievances. He said re-organization of the department is under active consideration of the Government. He said demand of enhancement of House Rent Allowance (HRA) in favour of teaching staff working in far-flung areas of the State has already been taken up with the concerned department for appropriate action.
The Minister said thousands of promotions under different categories have been made during this fiscal in the department adding that memo regarding confirmation of principals and 10+2 lectures will be submitted to the cabinet in its next meeting.
The Minister directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of construction work on school buildings and KGBVs and complete them within a stipulated time frame. He said sufficient funds have been released for the purpose. He said five KGBVs for 5 CD blocks of Pulwama district has been sanctioned and Rs.58 lakh released for construction of building for each KGBV.

The Minister directed the Principals and ZEOs to conduct tours in their respective jurisdiction and submit tour diaries to the Administrative department.
He asked the DIET authorities to impart training in specific subjects at least to 50 teachers in a month. He said teachers training is must.
Member Legislative Council Bashir Ahmad Magray, MLA Syed Bashir Ahmad, District Development Commissioner, Pulwama also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of the Government especially under education sector.
