Ex-Captain of Indian Cricket Team Issues Statement on Tata Nano
Amidst work closure declared by Tata Motors, Sourav Ganguly, the ex-captain of Indian Cricket Team has issued the following statement.
“As a citizen of the state of West Bengal and a part of Tata Group since 1994, I feel the industry is the future of the state. The starting of the Nano Project will be a beginning of an era in West Bengal, which will completely revolutionize the prospect of the state and the future of the youth of our state. The brand Tata will turn Singur into another Jamshedpur. So let us support the cause of Tata and Industry to create the future for us. If this project goes to elsewhere the state will become a dark spot. It is the time for us to stand up.”
Reacting to Sourav’s statement Mamata Banerjee said in her ‘hate’ style, “Does Sourav know where Singur is? Does he know how many farmers were killed there? Does he know how many women were raped there?”
This reporter is surprised at the questions put by Mamata to Sourav. Singur is barely 35 Km from Kolkata where Sourav resides. No farmers were ever killed there and no women were raped. One woman was found burnt in Tata motors area much before Tata started working there. The case is with CBI and CBI is yet to find an answer of any sorts.
Her comments on Sourav will not go down well with the masses. Sourav is the son of the soil and the best Bengali sports man of present era with an iconic image.
It will be worthwhile to mention here that Sourav is an employee of the Tata Group and had worked as a Brand Ambassador for the development of IT sector of Bengal. He is a resident of Behala area in Calcutta which incidentally falls in the same parliamentary constituency as that of Mamata Banerjee. Because of his iconic image, Sourav has the potential of defeating Mamata if ever a contest takes shape.
