Three days after her August 11 imprisonment, soldiers guard the gates to the home of political dissident Aung Sann Suu Kyi, currently under house arrest. Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, was put on house arrest following the 'trespassing violation' of American John Williams Yettaw.
Yettaw swam across a lake uninvited and spent three days at Suu Kyi's home. Upon his return, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years hard labor. On August 14th, US Senator Jim Webb officially visited Myanmar and negotiated for Yettaw's release. Suu Kyi has spent 14 of the past 20 years under house arrest.
