It needs influence to get registered a FIR!
Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir: Days are the gone when democracy was about equal rights to all. Now-a-days it needs influence to get registered a FIR in any dispute by the common man. On May 24 people at about 12: 15 mid day in the vicinity noticed a person setting on fire 4 poultry farms situated in Muthi, outskirts of Jammu. People chased him but could not nab him but identified him. Setting ablaze the property not only resulted in death of 4000 birds and destruction of 10 bags of feed but almost resulted in total loss, reported the owner namely, Darshan Lal son of Kartar Chand of Muthi Domana.
While narrating tale of travesty, Darshan said that soon after the accused was identified as Suresh Kumar son of Madan Lal of same area they started making bids to get lodged a FIR in the case so that matter could be investigated thoroughly. But despite wandering pillar to post FIR was not lodged by the officials at the helm of Akhnoor Police Station, he reported.
Finally, getting disappointed by the attitude of police, victims chose to knock the doors of law by approaching to Munsif Court Akhnoor, which directed in writing to concerned police station to proceed with 156 under section 3 as per the rule of law. This time response was the same but with a different pretext, Darshan reveals. Losing faith in system, Darshan opted to approach the fourth pillar of democracy to get heed and justice.
