JK Minister asks for strict check on power thefts and pilferages
Jammu,, July 16 (Scoop News) – Minister of State for Power, CA&PD, Shabir Ahmed Khan directed the Power Development Department authorities to improve the power scenario in Jammu by upkeeping of existing infrastructure and checking power pilferages so that the people do not face inconvenience.

The Minister was apprised that the total target for the year 2010-11 is Rs. 573.39 crore against which Rs. 93.38 crore has been realized in the first quarter.
During the meeting, Shabir Khan took stock of the revenue realization both from domestic and commercial sectors. He directed the officers to work in coordination to achieve the targets in their respective sub-divisions. Shabir was also informed about the consumption of electricity in
The Minister also took stock of the installation of e-meters in the districts. He asked the concerned to install the e-meters in the unmetered areas so that maximum revenue can be realized and uninterrupted power supply would be ensured to the people.
The Minister was also apprised by the officers of PDD about the shortage of staff in the department for which Khan said that their genuine demand would be redressed soon on priority.
