JK lone she Minister ‘Inaugurates awareness camp’ at Kargil
Kargil/ Srinagar, June 11 (Scoop News) –Minister for social welfare Ms. Sakina Itoo has said that several welfare schemes are invoke to uplift socio-economic condition of poor and destitute of the State adding that during last over three years financial assistance worth crore of Rupees has been provided to such deserve people under various welfare schemes through social welfare department.
This was stated by the Minister today after inaugurated an awareness camp at Drass, Kargil. The camp was organized by the ICDS Drass to impart necessary awareness about the benefits of welfare programmes.
The Minister said that the Government has accorded priority to Ladakh region and various schemes have been launched for the betterment of this region. She said that the division coming under scheduled tribe and all the benefits under this category are provided the people of two region.
The Minister said that various schemes have been framed for the handicapped and the children and asked the officers of the concerned department to bring more and more deserve people under their ambit. She also asked for preparing project report for the setting of tribal hostel in Kargil decision.
Ms. Sakina said that government has doubled the wages of Anganwardi worker. She said that the State is progressing on every front under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah. However, she appealed the people to extend support to the government for the overall development of the State.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed swing machines, medical aid and old age pension cheques among the deserving.
Among other Chairman Kargil Hill Development Council and Chief Executive Councilor, Kachru Ahmad Ali and Executive Councilor, Gh. Nagvi also spoke on the occasion.
The Minister was accompanied by the Director of Social Welfare Department and other concerned officer.
