Kashmir Chief visits Srinagar City, Jehlum Ghats



  Srinagar, May 01  (Scoop News) – Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon  conducted an extensive tour of Shahr-i-Khas through river Jehlum from Peerzoa Ghat today to review the pace of development works carried out by the Irrigation and Flood Control department, Tourism and Municipal Corporation.


   The District Development Commissioner, Srinagar,  Baseer Ahmad Khan, Director Tourism,  Farooq Ahmad Shah, officers and Engineers of SMC, Irrigation and Flood Control, Tourism and Police were accompanied by the Divisional Commissioner.


  The Divisional Commissioner was informed that Rs. 1.50 crore is being expended for conservation and renovation of Lal Ded Memorial School at Basant Bagh Ghat. He was told that the school would be equipped with the state of art facilities. The building is expected to be commissioned this May.


  The Divisional Commissioner also visited Zaina Kadal, Budshah Tomb, Jamia Masjid and its adjacent areas to review the ongoing development works on Jamia  Masjid, Hazrat Abdul Rehman (Bulbul Shah Shrine) maintained by the SMC and Tourism jointly.


  The Divisional Commissioner instructed the concerned authorities for timely completion of the ongoing works in the Shahr-i-Khas. The PDD authorities were directed to streamline the power system in the Zaina Kadal and inside the Budshah Tomb. He also directed the concerted to speed up the repair and renovation of the tomb.
