Kashmir Editors Association calls on the Minister

Srinagar, February 20,(Scoop News) -Minister of State for Information, CAPD, Power and Technical Education,  Vikar Rasool reiterated that media being fourth pillar of the State plays vital role as an informative bridge between governing bodies and general public, adding that it plays a crucial role in shaping a healthy democracy and makes people aware of socio-economic activities for improving the socio-economic status of the people.

The Minister said this while interacting with a delegation of J&K Editors Association here today.

Pertinently the delegation had called on the Minister and apprised him about their demands, besides construction of Press Club and allocation of land for setting up of Press Colony in Srinagar.

            The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that their genuine demands shall be looked into on priority basis.

             Vikar Rasool also assured that a high level committee shall be constituted to redress the grievances of press fraternity.
