LEST THEY FORGET (We Won't)

Now that they celebrate upon our blood and sweat

We won’t ever forget to remind them

Lest they forget the madness

And the unwarranted sadness

Their greed for power put us through

Their ill gotten seats, their power

Is the sweat and blood they shed

When they ganged us against another

Children taking up arms

We won’t forget to remind them

Lest they forget we killed one another

Their only crime being a shrubbing

Of a particular Swahili word

As a mother chose a father’s child

And for that we died for a crime

Our fathers committed
