Malik: Team was comfortable with me

"We did not see any meaningful communication between players and captain other than his (Malik's) five-minute talk during the team meeting. We have also not noticed him spending quality time with the players, which a successful captain must," said Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam and manager Yawar Saeed.

"The fact is that under my captaincy the team had a 80 per cent win record. In my tenure we had a high success rate. The players did respond to me as captain," former captain Shoaib Malik said.

"I always tried to make the players feel comfortable and tried to communicate with them," he added.

"But whatever cricket we got since I became captain we won 80 per cent of our matches." "I deserved a place in the team as a player if you look at my performances. I am disappointed at losing the captaincy but will continue to do my best even under Younis," Malik said.
