Mehbooba flays Goa Govt’s discriminatory decision
Jammu, March 29 (Scoop News) - Taking strong exception of the decision of the Goa Government to put Kashmiri businessmen on the “stranger roll”, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Legislature Party leader Mehbooba Mufti today sought intervention of the State Government in this regard.
Raising this issue during the Zero Hour in the Assembly, Mehbooba Mufti expressed surprise that Kashmiri businessmen doing business in Goa have been distinguished from other residents of the country by tagging them as “stranger roll”. She said that this decision of the Goa Government was not only ridiculous but also insulting for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She warned that such step would increase alienation among the masses and would widen the gap with residents of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country.
She further added that this decision of the Goa Government was also affecting careers of students, who are studying all over the country, traders and executives of Jammu and Kashmir. She further said that it was unfortunate that decision to single out Kashmiri traders as “stranger roll” has been taken by the government of Goa. She asked the
State Government to immediately take up this matter with the Goa Government. She further said that this apartheid policy of the Goa
Government would not be acceptable at any cost.
