Obama Fever Hits Ghana
The excitement about the visit of the US President Barack Obama to Ghana is growing by the day. Already vendors are hawking paraphenelia in readiness for his arrival next week.
This will be the third time a US President will visit Ghana. The first was Bill Clinton in 1998, followed by George W. Bush in 2007.
Obama's visit is the first to black Africa after his historic election to President of the United States.
For most Ghanaians, this is a "good omen" because out of the many countries in Africa, including his native country Kenya, Obama has decided to pay the first visit to Ghana. This is an endorsement of the path of democracy that Ghana has chosen.
People are naming there hotels and restuarants after the American President just to catch in on the business opportunities that come as a result of this visit.
