Environment Is Everything Around Us

Our environment includes everything (living and non- living) around us. It is our duty to keep our environment healthy and protect it from any kind of damage.

Temperature around the world is rising up because of global warming. If the misuse of technology is hastening global warming, the correct use of technology and concerted human efforts can turn things around once again.

Impact on environment

As human encroachment of virus animal habitats continues and as creatures flee noisy areas, their natural habitats shrink, pushing them towards extinction.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) encourages `caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enable nations and people to improve quality of their life without compromising that of future generations as well.’

National involvement

The constitution of India mentions, `it is the duty of the government to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wild life of the country.’ Each one of us must do duty to `Protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life.

Noise pollution makes the entire ecosystem speak louder eventually! Because of human induced noise in a creature’s natural habitat, it has to `speak’ louder to communicate to other members of its species. This is a Lombard Vocal response. For example, scientists have found that the length of whales’ sounds is longer when submarine-detectors are on. So, when one species begins communicating louder than normal, other species too have to speak louder, to be heard!

Buying a refrigerator? Think of how much food your family needs to store and buy accordingly. Big refrigerators use more energy, especially if the inside space is not fully used. To fill space, we often buy much more than we need and this leads to wastage. Britain, for instance, throws out about one-third of all the food produced.
