Over 11 lakh to vote for Srinagar Parliamentary elections,209 polling stations set up for Hazratbal,




            Srinagar, April 19  -- A high level meeting of officers connected with Parliamentary and Assembly by-elections in Srinagar reviewed the poll arrangements made for conducting peaceful, free and fair elections go to polls on May 7 in the fourth phase. The meeting was presided over by District Election Officer (Returning Officer) for Srinagar Parliamentary constituency in Kashmir.


            The meeting was attended by Returning Officers, Sectoral Magistrates and Zonal Magistrates. The District Election Officer, Ganderbal, Abdul Majid Khanday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam and SSP Srinagar were also present. The three Observers appointed for Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam were also present. N.C. Maniyappa has been appointed as Observer for Ganderbal,. Sandeep Dava for Srinagar and Satya Bhan for district Budgam.


 


            The Observers were apprised about various arrangements made for smooth conduct of parliamentary and two Assembly by-elections. The meeting was told that 1102380 voters would exercise their franchise in the Parliamentary elections for Srinagar. Of these, 574386 are male and 527994 are female voters. It was also told that 6141 polling staff has been deployed on duty and 1483 polling centres set up.


            Regarding EPICs, the Observers were informed that 79% identity cards have been issued in district Ganderbal, 61 % in district Budgam and 48 % in district Srinagar.


            Regarding Hazratbal and Sonwar Assembly segments, the meeting was informed that 119 polling stations have been set up in Hazratbal constituency for 86666 voters. Of these, 44497 are male and 41169 female voters.


            Accordingly, in Sonwar Assembly segment, 90 polling stations have been established for 69436 voters, which include 36265 male and 33171 female voters.






According to a notification issued by District Election Officer, Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo Assistant Commissioner (Nazool) Srinagar Shahnawaz Bukhari has been appointed as Returning Officer for 18-Hazratbal Assembly Constituency and can be contacted on his mobile No 9419035716, while-as Ghulam Hassan Rather, Tehsildar Nazool Srinagar appointed as Assistant Returning Officer shall be available on Mobile No. 9419041293.


            Accordingly for Sonwar Assembly Constituency  Itrat Hussain, Deputy Director Social Welfare Kashmir has been appointed as Returning Officer and can be reached on his mobile number 9906785419 while as  Mohammad Abdullah Parray, Area Marketing Officer Horticulture Department as Assistant Returning Officer and can be contacted on mobile number 9419516779.


            All the officers shall be a part of Help Desk, Control Room, Grievance/Redress cell established at DC office Srinagar       



            Accordingly for 2-Srinagar Parliamentary constituency  Mohammad Akbar Ganai ADC, Srinagar has been appointed as Assistant Returning officer for Hazratbal Assembly segment and can be contacted on mobile number 9419003894. While as Abdul Hamid Bhat, DFO, Urban Forestry Srinagar, for Zadibal Segment and can be reached on mobile no 9419000264. For Eidgah Segment,  Atta Ullah Samnani, Joint Director CA&PD department, Kashmir can be contacted on 9419058723, and for Khanyar segment. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, General Manager, DIC with mobile number 9419944871.
