Pakistan turns battle field after Long March Starts

As protest spread widely throughout the country, Pakistan is appearing no less than a battle field between security forces and public.

Police is using batten charge and tear gas while in response protestors are busy to throw stones to police. As the procession is marching ahead crossing all hurdles set by the police in the city Lahore police is retreating.

To stop the Long March for the restoration of the deposed judges, Pakistan government has almost seized the every city of Pakistan. Almost every single city is bared by police and no one is allowed to come in or go out.

In spite of all attempts by the government people are out in the streets for the long march to the Islamabad. Lawyers, political workers, civil society members and common people have planned to reach the federal capital Islamabad on 16th March for a “sit in” for the retoration of deposed judges.

Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry along with some other judges, who opposed the illegal acts of the former President Pervez Musharraf, was stopped to work in their offices on November 03 2007 by Musharraf.

Pakistan lawyers’ movement has been struggling for the restoration of the judges. In this Long March the two times elected former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is also along with the long march procession in spite of his orders of arrest by the government.

When this correspondent is writing this story the City Lahore is filled with tear gas, it’s very hard to take breath easily. With this act of police women and children who are not a party of this game and are in their houses are also facing tear gas affects.
