Pelosi Blamed as $700b Bailout Fails by 23 Votes

Wall Street took an apocalyptic 777-point plunge Monday as the House voted down a controversial $700 billion bailout plan proposed by President Bush and the Treasury Department.

Some blamed a partisan speech by House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who allegedly placed blame for the credit crisis on Republicans.
